This full size Jettison folder offers a sleek and powerful design by Robert Carter. The full size model has a larger blade and handle for tackling those extra tough cutting tasks. It has a modified wharncliffe style blade with a flipper opener. The stonewashed handle has a framelock and deep carry pocket clip for a great every day carry.
Robert Carter is an up-and-coming knife designer from Hillister, Texas. He spent years learning the knife making traditions of his father, Joe Pardue and grandfather, Mel Pardue.
Customer Reviews
I'm not sure what will get more pocket time now, the jettison or my drifter with g10 scales.
The only two reasons I gave it a 4/5 is 1, the steel scales feel a little slick in the hand and 2 the deployment speed is a little slow sometimes it seems. I'm sure that this is a result of this being my first flipper and my hand getting used to it.
All in all for the price I would recommend this knife to any of my friends or family.
First off, I love CRKT. A near perfect blend of quality, style, and affordability. I can't help calling them 'Cricket', however, lol.
Being left handed, I prefer flippers. This is my favorite so far... Although I also ordered a composite blade Leek... haven't gotten it yet, but I am looking forward to comparing the two. It cost twice as much as this one, however.
This knife is slick, pretty, hefty, and feels great in the hand. Mine came shaving-sharp as well. I've really only used it to cut apples on lunch breaks so far, but it got a few compliments, and handles EDC jobs like that flawlessly. Easy to clean too. At first I was bothered by no jimping; but that adds to the easy to clean part. Also, with the blade and handle shapes, you really don't need it. This is not a super heavy duty knife. For serious abuse (camp work, etc.) I have a fixed blade. But it is still 1/8th inch thick blade steel. Not wimpy, dangerously flexible, or weak in the lock up.
The only flaw (and it's really minor) is that the pocket clip isn't reversible. I still carry it in my left pocket. It's comfortable, doesn't snag, and has just enough weight I know it's there, but not so much it makes me feel like one side of my pants are sagging.
For ~ 30 bucks, you really cannot lose, here.
EDIT: upon further inspection, the inside of the scales are milled out to reduce weight. Lol just another plus
